Nova Scotia Swears In New Cabinet

HIGHLIGHTS:

New Deputy Premier: Barbara Adams takes on the role of Deputy Premier while continuing as Minister of Seniors and Long-Term Care and Minister responsible for Military Relations.

Renamed and Restructured Departments:

  • The Department of Growth and Development replaces Economic Development, now including Housing under Minister Colton LeBlanc.

  • The Department of Energy is newly created and separated from Natural Resources, led by Trevor Boudreau.

  • The Office of Regulatory Affairs and Service Efficiency is renamed the Department of Service Efficiency under Timothy Halman.

Rookie MLAs Named to Cabinet

  • Leah Martin leads Communications Nova Scotia

  • Nolan Young to head Labour, Skills and Immigration

Former Cabinet Members Left Out

  • Susan Corkum-Greek, formerly Economic Development, not named to Executive Council

  • Brad Johns, who resigned as Minister of Justice earlier this year, also left out of cabinet
